Start Date:

02 Aug, 1989

End Date:

03 Aug, 1989

Interpretation

Function:

Prob a domestic wall; cobble Surf 29 runs up to it & may represent a street outside a domestic structure; on the other side, the cobbles may link up with a retaining wall (again like Field D) perhaps wall 21; stones are unlike other MB construction on the site

Stratigraphy remarks:

L 26, next to this wall & above cobble Surf 29 which runs up to this wall, dates to MB; of course, the wall may go deeper & may have originated earlier but it apparently was at least re-used during MB; L 24, above this wall, & full of rubble, may represent the end of use of the wall & its deterioration during LB
