Interpretation
Function:
Poss an occupation surface which has been cut, & later used as a foundation surface for Wall 3; very sim in texture to the EB surfaces below, but its pottery & the pottery below it indicate it is later (unless contaminated); may have been the buildup or levelling material for a surface continuous with Surf 10; very unclear context
Stratigraphy remarks:
The material has been disturbed on all sides, poss cut by 20, 13 & Wall 12; it does not extend E beyond the W limit of 13; here it is replaced by the stony part of L 22
