Start Date:
01 Aug, 1984
End Date:
02 Aug, 1984
Function:
One wall of the 3-sided structure formed by Walls 5, 7, 4, 8; may have been a domestic structure, since many domestic artifacts were found; walls prob enclosed an interior space
Stratigraphy remarks:
Sealed against by Surf 6; poss that these 2 were laid down at the same time, because the compact material just beneath the upper surface of Surf 6 (dug with the surface) continued beneath the stones of Wall 5; at the E end of Wall 5, however, the dark fill of L 26 (& 25) is under the easternmost stone; Wall 8 abuts Wall 5 on the S, so may be a later addition, or simply the 2 were not bonded when built at the same time

Remarks:
Perhaps chinkstones have fallen out; length may be shorter than recorded because the rocks at the W end were looser & not certainly in alignment with the E part
