Color ranges from 2.5YR 8/2 (white) plaster to 7.5YR 2.5/1 (black) ash; plaster appeared to be the occupational surface while strong brown and black ash appeared to be deposited upon the floor; compactness and hardness also varied from firm to loose; U04 is not sure it's a surface
