Interpretation

Function:

Stratigraphy remarks:

The relation of this surface to Wall 47 is slightly complicated. The flagstones of 52 did run under some of the stones in the second course of 47, however the bottom of the first course of 47 was at the same depth as the bottom of the flagstone surface. Thus the flagstone surface and the first course of 47 appear to have been constructed at a similar time.
