Top level was taken from the W balk after the hump-shape was noticed; more friable surrounding L 9 & intervening between it and L 8 may be due to cobbles which were randomly surrounding the parameters of 9; two clumps of reddish soil (5YR 5/4 reddish brown) were noticed each about 8 cm in diameter
