Interpretation

Function Rubble fill with many fresh bones; does not clearly support any occupation surfaces; yet the depositional process must have been rapid suggesting that the fill was disposed of rather than brought in to level the area behind Wall 59; large quantities of fresh bone suggest rapid disposal; many butcher marks; slaughtering station in vicinity?
Stratigraphy remarks Seals against Walls 59 & 64 & was left standing when these were robbed out in LIR2; much of 63 was removed with L 44 & 53; pails recorded here represent lowest levels of the fill, perhaps intermingling with earlier IR1 locus to W of Wall 59
