Interpretation

Function Anthropogenic debris accumulation over a longer period than L 63 & 53; served as substratum for Surf 46; extremely rich in bone & organic remains; proximity of food preparation area seems likely; no evidence of food production tools
Stratigraphy remarks Late recognition of distinctness of 44, 53, & 63 resulted in few problems because of consistent pottery readings; note one-half of animal figurine (Loca 6, 7/5) matches half found in L 53 (Loca 1, 7/10)
