Interpretation

Function Basalt stone installation; due to the type of stones & its location (within an oval-shaped indentation in bedrock), a poss use seems to be grinding; the area (oval-shaped) would have served as a base & the stones themselves for grinding

Stratigraphy remarks The installation is found under Surf 13 & over 15 (a soil layer surrounding and running under it); thus Installation 14 is sealed against by 15, suggesting that the stones were laid first; however, since 15 also runs under Installation 14, this may not be the case; Surf 13 is later than the installation
