Interpretation
Function:
Made up of three large flat-lying stones laid over approx 2 cm of L 10 (red soil) & three vertical stones along the E side; had the appearance of the covering of a tomb, but that was proved wrong by excavation; at same level as L 8 & therefore was most likely used at the same time, poss as a hearth
Stratigraphy remarks:
Both under & over L 10, & is also sealed against by 10 which seems to have been used to keep the stones in place; L 8 also seals against it, keeping the installation in place
