Remarks:

The bedrock at first appeared to be very linear & even faced, but after some excavation it turned out to be a terrace in bedrock; as excavation continues the bedrock continues farther N stepping down; bedrock was found to extend all over square after a few days; at the lowest shelf there were many features carved into the bedrock--channel, cup mark, drains, steps, & a circular feature
