Softer along S wall & in poss hearth in SE corner where there were also large flat-lying sherds; harder & more clay-like toward the N; many fewer boulders than L 45 above; carbonized bits were more in S; difficult to trace for long; obviously made up of variable smaller deposits; more bones than usual with some flat-lying
