Remarks

Remarks:

Average inner diam 1.1 m; although it originally appeared that the N wall utilized an existing wall (ie Wall 3 or an older one below it); further investigation established that it is an integral structure, beautifully bonded & an excellent example of a silo; the section is visible in the E balk; the isolated rectangular stone seated on the mudbrick floor (Destruction 5) was apparently not of significance: it was removed, revealing no evidence of a significant feature or phenomenon below it; it is poss that it had a lining of small cobbles, large pebbles, judging from the number of such stones within (in random scatter); however, this could not be verified; sectioning against the exterior of the stone wall established the presence of mudbrick of Destruction 5 adjoining all courses of stones, from just below the upper surface of the top course of stones
