Interpretation

Function Large flat stones originally thought to be possible threshold, but level is uneven; if a wall, it is of massive construction (1.65 m wide) but of crudely placed stones with large intervening spaces; may have a reused portion of the EIR1 perimeter wall as discovered in U98; U08: the perimeter wall after it turned eastward into the tell
Stratigraphy remarks Seemingly contemporary with Wall 4A (stones of similarly crude nature) relation to Wall 18 is unclear; corners seem to abut; in U98 it was seen to continue the line of the IR1 perimeter wall in 7J59
